Overview
A research-driven civic engagement platform targeting young Haitians. Combines social media outreach on TikTok and Facebook with community organizing to promote active citizenship — voting, volunteering, and civic participation. Built entirely in Haitian Creole.
The Challenge
Civic participation among young Haitians is critically low. Existing outreach efforts don't meet youth where they are — on social media. There was no platform combining data-driven digital outreach with on-the-ground community organizing in Haitian Creole.
The Solution
Built a Next.js platform that serves as the hub for a 24-month civic campaign. Features include NLP and ML research components (Random Forest, LSTM models) for analyzing civic sentiment in Haitian Creole, content optimization for social media reach, and coordination tools for 50+ community ambassadors.
