WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT
Web Design & Development
Custom, fast, SEO-first websites and web apps built in Next.js by a full-stack developer — no templates, no agency overhead.
IN SHORT
I'm Jeff Cadet, a full-stack developer who designs and builds custom websites and web apps end-to-end. Everything is built in Next.js with an SEO-first, performance-first architecture — the same stack behind production platforms serving millions of records. Typical small-business site: $2,500–$10,000, shipped in 2–4 weeks.
What you get
A website that's genuinely yours — designed and coded for your business, not stamped out of a template. I handle the whole stack so there are no gaps between how it looks and how it works:
- Custom design. Layout, UI, and animation tailored to your brand and your audience.
- Fast by default. Server-rendered Next.js, optimized images, and clean code that loads quickly on every device.
- SEO-first architecture. Structured data, semantic HTML, sitemaps, and metadata done right so you can actually rank.
- You own it.Clean, documented code deployed to your accounts — no lock-in to a builder you can't leave.
Proof, not promises
I build production software, not just landing pages. My main project, TradeProof, is a SaaS platform serving 3.6M+ records across all 50 US states. I've built sites for fashion e-commerce, beauty services, and civic platforms. See the full portfolio — every project is live, with a real URL.
What it costs
Transparent ranges, scoped before we start. These reflect typical market rates for working directly with an experienced developer.
| Project type | Typical price | Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Small-business marketing site | $2,500–$10,000 | 2–4 weeks |
| E-commerce store | $5,000–$25,000 | 4–8 weeks |
| Custom web app / SaaS | $10,000–$50,000+ | 6–12 weeks |
How it works
1. Discovery. We define goals, audience, and scope — and I tell you honestly if a website builder would serve you better. 2. Design & build. I ship in stages so you see real working pages early. 3. Launch & iterate. We go live, measure, and refine based on real visitors.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a custom website cost?
A professional custom website typically costs $2,500 to $10,000 for a small business marketing site, and $10,000 to $50,000+ for a web application with custom functionality, accounts, or e-commerce. Template-based sites are cheaper but limit performance, SEO, and ownership. Working directly with an independent developer removes agency overhead, so more of your budget goes into the actual build.
How long does it take to build a website?
A focused small-business website usually takes 2 to 4 weeks. A custom web app with accounts, payments, or integrations takes 6 to 12 weeks depending on scope. I ship in stages so you see working pages early instead of waiting months for a single big reveal.
Do you design as well as develop?
Yes. I handle design and development end-to-end — layout, UI, responsive behavior, animation, and the code underneath. Because the same person designs and builds, there are no handoff gaps where a beautiful mockup becomes a slow or broken site.
Will my website be fast and good for SEO?
Yes. I build with Next.js and an SEO-first architecture: server-rendered pages, structured data, fast load times, clean semantic HTML, sitemaps, and metadata done correctly. Speed and SEO are built in from the first commit, not bolted on later.
Should I use a custom site or Squarespace/Wix?
If you need a simple brochure site and nothing custom, a website builder like Squarespace can be the right call — and I'll tell you so. A custom build is worth it when you need real performance, unique functionality, full ownership of your code, advanced SEO, or features that templates can't support. I help clients make that decision honestly rather than overselling.
